Gwyneth Paltrow in Custom Ralph & Russo--2015 Academy Awards
Gwyneth Paltrow decided to revisit the color PINK at the Academy Awards, but this time in a much softer shade--as opposed to her iconic Ralph Lauren moment back at the 71st Academy Awards in 1999. This time, she wore a one shoulder and one sleeved column silk crepe gown with an organza rose petal-like shoulder detail from the British design house of Ralph & Russo.
The gown is based on a similar style, shape and color of a gown from their Spring 2015 collection (see photo above). I think it's a very elegant gown and she looks quite Upper Class beautiful in this. I'm sure there will be lots of organza rose petal haters but I don't mind it. It's very 80's James Galanos-meets-Valentino-meets-Oscar de la Renta. In other words: I like it!
Ralph & Russo are headed by Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo and are the only British based designers to be allowed to show at Paris Haute Couture Fashion week. They are known for very elaborate, very expensive creations sought after by celebrities and royals. Angelina Jolie commissioned them to create outfits for various film premieres as well as humanitarian events. Beyonce wore their designs for The Mrs Carter Show World Tour.
Oh and yes, I need to say something about THOSE earrings. One word: Wow!
